My Word

Or I guess I should say, my wordS. Because I have a million of them. Oh how I love to talk. I have been a talker for a LOOONNG time, but now people can actually understand some of the things I say. If I were typing (instead of my Mom) I would make you a huge list of words I know. But Mom says there's too many to list, so she just wants to share some of the highlights with you.

My absolute favorite is bye-bye. I say it all the time, to whoever will listen. And I don't just say it once, I say it over and over, as I watch the person I'm saying it to get smaller and smaller in the distance. The other day I was saying it to everyone in Costco. And at the commissary. Mom decided I was saying bye-bye so much that she thought I needed to put a new spin on things, so she taught me how to say thank you. So now when we go to the store, I say thank you to the cashier before saying bye-bye. It sounds something like this: "keeekoooo. Bu byeeeeeeeeeee." And everyone just thinks it's so cute. (Why don't they think it's cute when Mommy says it? It must be my blonde hair and my big brown eyes. No, it's probably my winning smile that does it).

I'm really good at saying circle, because it is my favorite shape. The oval runs a close second. I'm always finding circles and ovals everywhere we go, and if I find one I can pick up I make sure and take it to my Mommy and identify it for her. She just loves it. Today I showed her what the letter A looks like, and she was so happy. I love making Mommy happy.

Well I can also say Mommy and Daddy, and I can mostly say Jacob. But today when we were walking through the commissary she tried to get me to say Chandler and Kamryn. Sheesh, what does she expect, I'm not even 2 yet. So on a whim she decided to see if I could say Henry and Michael (our friends) and I was a pro at those.

Thank you. Bye-bye.

Car

That's one of my best words. I don't really have a lot of real words yet, but I do say "wow" and "whoa" and "yay" and "Mommy," and I will talk your ear off if you let me. You probably won't understand a word I say, but I love to climb up in the big recliner and give my own little monologues to whoever will listen. It's even more fun when you say things back to me, then I have even more to say. I just plain love to talk.

I like to eat whole apples and whole, raw, peeled carrots. Usually I eat all of it, but sometimes I get tired of it so I just throw it. Yesterday my mom found a half eaten apple inside one of my toys.

I am a very social person. Every time we go anywhere I do anything I can to get attention from strangers, even yelling and waving my hands at them until they look at me and say how cute I am. Then I smile and start talking to them. Most of the time they will have a conversation with me, but not always. If not I have to move on to my next admirer. I can't stand not having attention.

I have also become a bit posessive of my mom. I get really mad when my brothers get anywhere near her lap, and I start hitting them. But they are all teaching me the word "soft," which they say every time I hit. When they say "soft" I am very gentle and kind, and then after a few seconds I start hitting them again if they're still too close to my mom. Mom keeps saying I have no idea what I'm in for when Kamryn comes, whatever that means.

I started nursery and I really love it. I also LOVE to wear shoes, but mom doesn't put them on me very often. If she shows me one of my shoes though, I'll usually do whatever she wants so she'll give it to me. I also love to play with socks because they are fun to fling around. One of my favorite things to do is use a wet rag to wash the floor or the walls. I also like to throw things on the ground. Food, dishes, books, whatever. Throwing is fun.

All About Me

This is Me:
My name is: Adam
My age is: 1

I am the fourth boy born into my family. I have two older brothers who are teaching me the ropes around the house. They teach me how to use a light saber, pillow fight, color, laugh, roll around, and make mischief. I like to watch Baby Einstein videos and Blue's Clues. I especially like the part when the mail comes, and I always put my arms up and sing "Maaaaaiil!!" And I like Snoopy.

I really like to drum. Things I use to drum are measuring spoons on measuring cups, mixing spoons on mixing bowls, my hands on empty buckets, and anything else useful I can find around.

I love bath time, but I'm not so fond of nap time. I think that it won't be long now before my mommy has to accept the fact that I'm done with the napping phase of my life. I love music. I am really good at eating all kinds of vegetables, but I have recently discovered how fun it is to drop things from my tray onto the floor and to spit things out when my mom feeds me. It's great.

I love to climb up and down the stairs. I would do it all day long if they would take that silly gate down. I especially like to rush upstairs before someone catches me and get on Jacob's bed. Such fun!

I can't wait until February because when I am 18 months old I get to start going to nursery at church, and that will be a lot more fun than going to class with Mom or riding around in the stroller through the halls. Life gets a lot more fun as you get older.

If you ever visit me, you should know that I LOVE to play "This Little Piggy." I laugh and laugh because I know I'm about to get tickled big time.

I hope you visit here often for updates on the events of my super exciting life!
